The subject of intime hygiene is rather delicate and people usually try not to open it. However, lack of information can lead to many problems. The cases of STDs have risen by 70% among gays and lesbians.
There is a misconception that homosexuals do not enter the high-risk group. Of course, the risk of contamination is lower, but it still exists. There are a plenty of STDs which could be got from lesbian sex. The best treatment for STDs is their prevention. Thats why its necessary to know the main rules of intime hygiene. Even such a simple process as intimate washing should be carried out according to some rules.

The uterine cavity is centre of female reproductive system. This place is very sterile. Especially pregnant women should avoid affecting bacteria or viruses. To start a baby spermatozoids should penetrate uterus. Vaginal bacteria let them in and bar the way to microbes at the same time. Lactic acid bacillus form 90% of normal vaginal microflora. The most usual cause of that is getting of soapsuds into vagina. Its not harmful when it happens once or twice. But constant alkaline attacks lead to microflora derangement and dysbacteriosis. The first symptom is an unpleasant smell, and its impossible to get rid of it. In fact, woman has to consult the doctor to escape of this odor. There are also cases when a woman doesnt have symptoms being infected for a long time. Hormonal imbalance, menstruation and pregnancy can also cause the same problems.
Moreover protection capabilities of genital organs depend on womans age. Before getting sexual maturity, girls vaginal microflora is open to injury. Women of climacteric age also risk to be infected.

While menstruation one shouldnt have a bath, swim pool or any other pond. Its better to avoid having sex. Pads should be changed not less frequently than four to five times during 24 hours.
If you use tampons, remember that it could stay in not more than 4 hours. Many gynecologists dont advise using tampons regularly.
Wash your genitals with warm water not rarer than two times a day. The towel should be clean and smooth and it should be used only by one person. Wash your genital area from front to back. Otherwise you can be infected by microbes from your back passage. You should act in the same way when wiping after deification or urinating. The moisture should be wiped carefully not to scratch mucous membrane and gentle investing tissue. The soap could be used only for washing the vaginal entry.
Frequent douching can harm you. While douching normal bacteria could be washed away. This increases the risk to be infected. You can also provoke increasing of the bacteria in tubes and uterus. So, its not necessary to douche more often than once a month. Of course there are some other cases when you need to douche regularly, but only following the doctors instructions.
Avoid wearing synthetic underwear. Unnatural cloth doesnt allow your body to breath. Its better for you body to use cotton underwear.
Always practice safe sex. There are lots of methods of contraception nowadays. While having sex with a woman, the risk of getting STD is still high. To prevent being infected try to be fair and open with your partner and make sure that she is without any kind of infection.
